In research, teaching and knowledge transfer, we focus on politics, markets and consumer behaviour in the agricultural and food industry and bioeconomy and develop inter-and transdisciplinary solutions, thus within the framework of efficient and sustainable markets, the balance between the provision of sufficient and high-quality food, the economic viability and the protection of natural resource protection, biodiversity and animals can be identified and implemented in policies in the best possible way. The increasing differentiation of agricultural markets based on quality, safety and regionally different social acceptance leads to an increase in the importance of information, communication, cooperation and innovations. We take this into account with a strong focus on knowledge transfer in politics and society.
The basis for achieving this goal is empirically based, interdisciplinary and methodologically innovative research and research-led teaching.
